I had a lot of fun in New York for Fordham University’s Sports Management Program. I was invited to this program in early February due to my participation in the National Honor Society. Using my part-time job earnings and with help from my parents, I was able to attend the program from July 23rd through July 30th.
Although the program didn’t have a lot of diverse cultures that I had anticipated, the curriculum made up for it. Within the program, we met guest speakers like sports agents and general managers of New York sports teams. We also took field-trips to local venues (Madison Square Garden, New York Yankee stadium & Barclay’s Center), which was pretty awesome to see. I took a lot of notes, met new friends across the world and networked with business professionals. One take away from this program is that there is another side to sports. You have to be focused and locked in if you want to do this business.
