I have some exciting news to share!! Outside J. got invited to an event hosted by King Josiah, NBA Twitter king, in Las Vegas on Thursday, July 14th. My family and I left Wednesday early morning and arrived to my Uncle Joey’s house in Vegas. It was blazing by the way when we got there and during the whole trip!
Nonetheless, that Thursday, we visited King Josiah at a hotel where he was doing a podcast sponsored by Showtime Basketball. After his podcast, I set down and had an interesting conversation with him about the mission of Outside J and the event he was hosting later on–King Josiah’s Summer League Soiree. While at
the podcast, I got a chance to meet NBA great, Tracy McGrady. He is one of my favorite players, so I was really ecstatic!!
Later on that night, my family and I attended the Pop-Shot-Tournament. At the event I got to meet NBA player, Matt Barnes, as well as league scouts. At the end of the event, King Josiah brought me to the front and informed the crowd he would donate a portion of the event’s proceeds to my organization.
All in all I was proud for Outside J being recognized for its efforts in contributing to the community. Thank you to everyone who believed in us and our brand mission. The proceeds would be used to fund the upcoming 3 on 3 tournament this upcoming school year. Stay tuned!!
